About This Newsletter For me and many other people, Mother's Day is a day of remembrance. It is a day to remember Mom's cooking skills, the fun and laughter we had together, and the tears and sorrows we shared.
Letter From the Editor On November 29, 2012, my Mother's soul ascended into the spiritual world. Thus, Mother's Day has become a day of remembrance, of praying for the advancement of her soul in the next world, and of attempting to write poetry about her. Sometimes I succeed in writing a poem, and sometimes I fail, but I continue to keep trying. I remember the music in her voice, when we attended a Nineteen-Day Feast, the way she read the Blessed Beauty's words, and her smile when she listened to others read. The first Mother's Day after her passing was the most difficult. As time passed and I aged, it is easier to remember her joy when we celebrated Mother's Day, one of our birthdays, or her happiness when we attended a Baha'i celebration or commemoration together. I can now dream of Mom, without waking up crying. I still miss Mom so much, but now I can smile when a scent or phrase reminds me of her. I remember seeing her eyes sparkle, when we celebrated a Holy Day with the rest of the Baha'i community. What memories do you have about your mother or mother figure?
