I don't get the impression that they are a culture of mockery... at least not like the British and Her Majesty's colonies. I'm sure they will smile and/or laugh at my mispronunciations (tone is an integral part of the word, just like vowel length is in English e.g. shit/sheet.) And it's not like they are free of cruelty. Even the Thais point that out themselves. Othered...
