It is a beautiful love song, and I've always liked Tony Bennett, although I'm not familiar with Vicente Fernandez and I haven't seen the movie. Anyway, the background guitar and brass remind me of pretty much any visit to relatives on my mom's side, as well as the separate times her mom and dad lived with us. Both Denver and Detroit have plenty of Spanish-language radio stations, and there was always music playing. The visits were always fun times, with lots of kids around to play with, and as much arroz con pollo as you can eat. We can't turn back time but, if we could, I would definitely return to some of those days for another visit.
