1. John Lucas Paulos:

Age - 70
Occupation - Pastor of a local congregation just outside of Fort Worth, Texas, and a seminary professor at SWBTS
Avocation - He loves to walk, especially in connection with 18 holes of golf
Relation to Azul - He became friends with Fuerza and Azul during their seminary days
Physical Description - a little overweight for His age, 5' 8" inches tall, kind & tender personality, bass voice, which sounds like the Voice of God, well-chosen words, gently applied

2. Sam Total:

Age - 40
Occupation - Associate Pastor, supporting Brother Paulos, and a seminary professor at SWBTS
Avocation - He loves to play chess, and to read with works of C. S. Lewis & J. R. R. Tolkien
Relation to Azul - He becomes friends with Azul when she returns to SWBTS on her way home.
Physical Description - average weight for His age, 5' 10" inches tall, with a respectful soul and supportive heart

3. Big Farmer:

Age - 50
Occupation - Assumed the running of the family farm in Sycamore years go with the blessing of the family
Avocation - Working six days each week at a very physical job, he has taken up reading the classicsin his middle years as well as starting to write, that he may create new classics.
Relation to Azul - Nephew. He's the son of Azul's favorite sister, who has gone Home to be with the Lord.
Physical Description - He has a little paunch, but it's all muscle, since he is in very good shape for a man his age. He is 6' 0" inches tall, jovial, kind, defender of the weak. In a word, he would laydown his life in a heartbeat to protect someone, who is being mistreated or abused.

II. Detractors:

1. Mara Plaza:

Age - 70
Occupation - Matron of the church in Palma Loma, and director of the senior adult ministry doesn't want Azul to leave
Avocation - She makes ñandutí lace, and has done so since she was a little girl
Relation to Azul - Long-time friend of Azul throughout the ministry years, she has become sour towards Azul, since the talk of returning to the State. Mara will do anything she can to keep Azul in Paraguay.
Physical Description - more than a little overweight for her age, 5' 8" inches tall, she is usually kind, but like her name suggests, she can wear bitterness on the outside when life doesn't go her way.

2. Sue Jones:

Age - 60
Occupation - Newborn Nurse at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas
Avocation - She likes cross stitch,and crossword puzzles
Relation to Azul - She was a new student at SWBTS (40 years ago) when Fuerza and Azul were being commissioned to go to Paraguay as full-time missionaries. She didn't think much of them then, and she still doesn't think much of them now.
Physical Description - a little overweight for her age, 5' 6" inches tall, she appears to be kind on the surface, but she only helps those, who meet her high standards.
