Facing the loss of a friend

The wall. I think of John Melencamp's song The Wall. "The Wall. Come tumbling down. The wall. Tumbling down. Tumbling down." How many times have we put up walls to avoid people and then take it down later? Lots of them. There is an ex-boyfriend or two you feel like pushing off the wall. It is better the forgive and just forget the person.

There are walls to keep people out of certain areas. Sometimes, we look at four walls, while we were quarantine and go crazy. Walls. We do need them. They hold buildings together. The Vietnam Memorial Wall. The wall at 9-11. Walls are everywhere. They are usually a good thing. Walls. They are the foundations of buildings and our hearts and our life.
