Neon James looked up at the sky, counting stars and dreaming of the cosmos. He always dreamed aliens would take him. He was part of a remnant of humans were left stranded on the planet after their ship was destroyed by space pirates. Half of the humans survived. His mother and sisters perished. His father and he survived. He had not forgiven THEM for that. His father no longer lived him.

He saw the silvery glow of the ship—the aliens that were not like him but also like him—and he heard the voices. He was no longer alone.
