The Bird Cage

Tonight on Montana PBS is 'The Bird Cage'. This 1996 movie stars Robin Williams and Nathan Lane. Two gay men pretend to be a married couple for their son's future in-laws. The Bird Cage is the name of the nightclub that Robin Williams owns and where Nathan Lane performs as "Starina". It is in South Beach, Miami.

These two comic geniuses make this movie. Hank Azaria also stars as their houseman. So hilarious. Gene Hackman and Calista Flockhart also star.

So this comedy explores family, all the dynamics. Gay family vs. heterosexual family. What happens when they clash?

Good stuff.
