Almost Starting All Over
Almost Starting All Over

That was what I thought that I was going to have to do after I started work last Sunday. Luckily, I was wrong about that. I debated with myself about what I should do. Either to continue to work on my script for the first part of my Water Wars scriptwriting project and updating what I have already done later or wait until today to start it all over again. I decided to wait until today.

So, what did I do last Sunday while at work? I started working on my Outlines. No, I didn’t re-write any of them. But I thought that was what I was going to need to do. In fact, I thought that I was going to start the Outlines all over again. Why did I feel that way? Because after breaking down the first few paragraphs for my Story Outlines, I wasn’t going to be able to do it with the number of lines that I wanted them to be.

Unlike my scripts, I had a set number of lines that I wanted my paragraphs to be for my Outlines. When I tried to do that, it didn’t work out. At least not the first way that I tried it. Which was to count the words and multiply them by five. I figured that would be very close to the total amount for those lines. But they were way over that. Too much for me to cut back on.

So, I started counting the handwritten letters per line to see how close they would be to sixty characters per line. And that sort of solved my problem. But not completely. I was wrong about the number of words that I had leftover.
Unfortunately, I still did have a word or two that went over my line limit.

That’s when I realized that I wouldn’t have to go back to starting everything all over again. especially, after I checked out a few paragraphs in my Scene Outline. And they appeared to be a lot better than the Story Outline that I checked. Some of them I may still have to work with. If not a lot of them. But I can do that.

Today, I’m going back to work. That means I’m going to start working on my scripts from scratch again. I’m not sure how many of them that I will get done. But I’m hoping to get five to ten of them written. And that includes any Establishing Shots that I may have. That may not be too big of a problem, though. After all, I do have the other script to fall back on since the new one will be about the same. Especially, the Establishing Shots. The only difference will be the number of lines, seconds, per scene.
