To 'Abdu'l-Baha

He chose the road of servitude--
to the Abha Beauty2--
he walked it all his life
through the storms of strife.

He chose the road of servitude--
to the Ancient Beauty
and to humanity--
he walked it
through the darkest night
always focused on the light,
never looking left or right.

Knowing both the destination
and the requirements of the journey,
he chose the road of servitude
to the Glory of God.
