Sijo
No Words
twilight falls, with cricket song and ten million bullfrogs croaking
their love-words to firefly stars, no silence on this cloudy shore
except us, my head on your arm, our breathing synced together.
Overwhelmed
this morning, the world bled
before my eyes, crimson welling
from the walls, from my keyboard,
from the corner of page ninety-six,
everywhere my fingers landed, blood.
and me, no bandages left.
