Waiting for those warm spring rains

Yellow green of fresh sprouts that grow
Smell of flowers damp with dew
Waiting for hot summer winds to blow

Deep green carpeting half the world
Smell of chlorophyll filling leaves
Waiting for Autumn's color to be unfurled

Gold and crimson waves of grains
Musty smell of mouldy fallen leaves
Waiting for winter's snows to fill the plains
