The simplicity of my day to day. |
PROMPT March 29th What did you like / dislike about where you grew up? What do you like / dislike about where you live now? It’s thought provoking when you are confronted by a question like this. I never once thought I didn’t like where I lived growing up. My mother was a true homemaker so we were always made comfortable, certainly physically. We moved around a lot when I was a kid but each place seemed like home. Probably because my Mum was there. Maybe the place I didn’t enjoy living the most was the time we had seven years running a corner store. Living on the premises, there was never a time you felt as if the day had ended. Lots of hard work for little reward. But having said that, it was where I learned my work ethic. Even now if I sit down for too long I feel guilty. My childhood/ adolescence/ early adulthood was in England. I loved England. I liked the uniqueness, the humour, the countryside and the history. Now we live in Australia. I like that it’s different but similar to the UK. We speak the same language, well almost.🤣 There’s nothing I hate or dislike about the country but I still love BBC programmes on television. I love that we’re almost Covid free. I love that my children are Australian. |
