PROMPT March 1st

When you are old, what do you think children will ask you
to tell stories about?

Well I am old and I don’t know whether it’s just my family or not but they don’t ask me to tell them stories about my past.
The only time is when one of the family are expecting a new arrival, they are amazed I lived at a time when there was no such thing as a pregnancy scan. This in my case led to undiagnosed twins.
Sometimes someone asks about the time we emigrated from the UK and came to Australia, knowing no one. We were in our twenties with a child. We had a house and two businesses to sell before we left the UK. Comparing myself and my husband as we were then, our grandchildren of the same age seem so young. They don’t seem to think they are adults yet, still quite dependant on their parents.
Now I write stories and although the family think it’s a nice thing to do, they’re not really interested in reading them.
