Personal Development & Purpose
Today is my flex day. I work nine days and have a day off on the second Friday of my pay period. You would think I would spend that day relaxing? No, sir/ma'am. I scheduled four webinars and an online class from subjects ranging about business to writing. Some people would call that personal development. Stephen Covey called it sharpening the saw in his Seven Habits. I call it investing in myself, too. All of these were free. But I have spent some money on some classes and webinars, coaching, and even writing groups/guilds lately. I had to justify that. But I figure if the greats from Stephen Covey to the great writers do this, than I could and should do the same. After all, am I worth it? Is it the best thing to get better? Of course it is.

It is also a big deal to cultivate those talents that you think were given to you. I struggled to find out what purpose and passion God gave me. It was right in front of me. Now, that I've accepted the fact that writing is one one those, if not, the main talent, than I'm going to do whatever necessary to make it even more potent.
