} This week we will be in Proverbs 13. Prompt: "Proverbs 13:3 says "Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives: those who open wide their lips come to ruin." Do you think Solomon is talking about gluttony here? What exactly is he saying?" This is a passage that I would have to do a deep dive to properly interpret. I could do the research if I had the time but most people do not have the resources to research it thoroughly. By that I mean to say that most people do not have access to concordances, Lexicons, university library research databases, and so forth. I believe God would have kept it simple. On first reading this could be interpreted as saying basically that those who keep their tongues under control may well save their own life while those with big mouths may get the stuffing beaten out of them. I think the passage does mean that. It also means that the person who keeps his words under control will not end up saying something he/she will later regret. Believe me, I have eaten crow a thousand different ways and there is no good way to do so! It's all a humbling experience. We all need a little crow and a serving of humble pie but indulge sparingly! "Prompt: Chewbecca and Yoda were traveling the universe and found this planet:
How do you feel about humanity?" I feel that humanity is a doomed race. We are falling apart at the seams because we will not adhere to God's words. What God calls evil we call good. This is not to be and it will bring our destruction. "Prompt: Amy Tan failed at her first stab at writing because she was trying to push forward an image that wasn’t 100% her real image. According to you, what are some of the other serious mistakes we writers make with our approach to our writing, either at the beginning or during our writing careers?" Writers fail to realize that people could care less about how good your material is. If they have never heard of you they will seldom read you. Marketing is key. "Prompt: Write about a new start." I got a new start three years ago when I moved here to the Veterans Home. I started my career as a peer support specialist then and it is building momentum. |
