PROMPT: July 16th - Today, let’s talk movies. What was the most recent movie you watched? Have you been to the theater recently? What movie are you looking forward to? What is your favorite movie of all time? The Gate: Dawn of the Baha'i Faith Official Trailer The last movie I went to see was at the Baha'i Center when the Las Vegas Spiritual Assembly show The Gate. The actors chosen to portray Tahirih and the other Letters of the Living did an excellent job. The only person not portrayed visually in the movie was The Bab himself. That is because it is forbidden to show a Manifestation or Prophet of God in any movie or film. Not showing an actor playing the Bab didn't take away from the movie because it presence was suggested through the way the scenes were filmed.
DAY 2431: "The pen is the tongue of the mind" Miguel de Cervantes Saaverda What do you think? Do you use something besides a pen to compose your writing? Contemplating the Pen I Writ With There are no maps on this journey, and only one vehicle. Mind is the pen I write with, my fingers the ink of my muse. I float on star currents embraced by the interstellar medium, cold hydrogen echoes my intonations, echoes the song of my soul, and echoes the muse of faith. T here is no map for this journey, my soul's compass points toward eternity: free of the chains of matter my mind soars above alien landscapes. Writing the words my mind creates atoms and molecules enzymes and proteins, and silence an chaos. Death is the next line, and life after death the next stanza; there is only noise and silence, today is yesterday and tomorrow, the missing link in the evolution of my muse.
Day 2035: “Writing is a struggle against silence.” Carlos Fuentes What do you think? Silence Silence is necessary for meditation, prayer, and contemplation before writing. The mind is seldom silent, unless a person focus on something to distract the thoughts that flow through the mind. Writing focuses the noisy mind. Meditation and prayer focus the noisy mind. Writing, is not so much "a struggle against silence", as it is a struggle against the death of an idea. |
