Poetae Tenebris
(The Dark Poet) Wining entry March 24
Filled with undigested thoughts, stygian
infernal or hellish
murmurs drone.
They seep from deep within my mind
and slither, snake-like,
before my closed eyes.
They whisper to me of love's despair,
of pain, of death... and worse.
Their song echoes in dulcet tones,
each verse inviting me into their
obsidian depths.
There, trapped within a dark recess,
a thought, so dark and vile,
that it stains my very soul,
yet I am compelled to give it life,
to make it whole.
Its fevered taint finds purchase
in my chaotic dancing words.
It sprawls across white pages
so its darkness can be heardβ¦
can be seen,
can infect
the unsuspecting.
Delivered from its shackles,
I find that I am free at last
of its droning control.
Still, no peace comes to me
from the torturous voices that
feed upon my weaknessβ¦
who forever torment me
from the shades within my head.
