"July 18, 2018"      Prompt: "Thunderstorms. Do you enjoy them or fear them. Share a thunder storm experience with us.."Thunderstorms terrify me with good reason. I have been hit by lightning twice in my lifetime! The first time was my own stupidity. I was high on drugs and angry with God. So I stood out in a storm yelling at God and asking with each strike of lightning "Is that all you've got? Come on you can do better than that!" He did better alright. A bolt of lightning struck me and threw me thirty feet from the yard and through the door of my house. I landed against the ceiling and slumped down the wall to the floor, basically unharmed except a whole lot more humble. My wife looked at me and said "Yep! He did a whole lot better that time you idiot!" The second time I was struck I was in my study looking out the window during a storm. The lightning hit the wall right next to me but did not hit me directly. It was so close that I considered it to be after me for it burned a patch of my wall six inches from my head. Now when it storms I curl up on my bed and pray that nobody gets hurt. I still think storms are beautiful in their own way but I don't curse them any more. I stay inside and away from windows! "Prompt: What fictional town from a novel or TV Show would you like to visit or live in?"If I had to live in any television city it would likely be some place like Salem on Days of our Lives. Those people need a preacher in a bad sort of way. However since I cannot live in Salem I will live where I am and do my best to set a Christian example for others to follow here.    |
