Ballooning1

Let's go
up and away,
who wants to stay on the ground
when you can fly high
in the sky.

Find a beautiful hot air balloon2,
one with a purple, green, and gold envelope,
get in the gondola,
pull the handle on the burner,
and rise
into the morning sky.

“The real winners in life are the people who look at every situation with an expectation that they can make it work or make it better.” -Barbra Pletcher
“Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.” -E. Cossman
Your thoughts?

Winner and Obstacles

Obstacles in your path has nothing to do with taking your eyes off the goal. Obstacles are placed in your path for one of two reason. They occur either to test your resolve to achieve the goal, or they are to build your character. Winners are those who see the obstacles and find a way around, under, over, or through them.

Use these words in your entry: moonlight, offend, small, strawberry, yank, unwieldy, car, attack.

Under The Full Buck Moon

Under the Full Buck Moon
moonlight dances across the cityscape,
sparkles on parked cars,
and offends the eyes
of those who have had
too many strawberry daiquiris
before midnight.

Under the Full Buck Moon
small insects attack
the unwieldy
discards of modern civilization;
they yank and pull
at the litter
dragging
it back to their nests.
