Creation Saturday: There is Only One Way Out
Saturday, June 17, 2017
"The essence of faith is fewness of words and abundance of deeds; he whose words exceed his deeds, know verily his death is better than his life."
Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, 10. Aṣl-i-Kullu’l-K̲h̲ayr (Words of Wisdom)
The "Blogging Circle of Friends " creation Saturday prompt for DAY 1191
Write a STORY or POEM that begins with: There was only one way out.
There is Only One Way Out:
To the Blessed Beauty
There is only one way out,
so please don't pout
or give me that "what do you think you're writing look".
There is only one way out,
I can't give in to self-doubt
nor can I turn back;
the way out of life's maze
is forward movement
through the crop circles
of my fears.
There is only one way out,
no map can show me the exit,
and the entrance is now closed;
my only guides
prayer,
meditation,
and faith in the invisible hand
that guides me through
this mortal world.
There is only one way out,
it lies ahead,
just around a corner,
and hidden
until the moment
my soul is ready to ascend
into the next world.
There is only one way out,
and that is by faith;
by movement forward,
by advancing though
the fog shrouded maze
of material existence.
This is the first in a series of 200 poem dedicated to the Blessed Beauty (Bahá’u’lláh). I plan on completing these poems in the next 127 days with the final poem written on or before October 22, 2017. October 22 is the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Baha'u'llah. This poem, along with the others, will eventually be posted in "Bicentenary Poems and Prose" .
