What do you think of his quote and how would you feel being placed in that situation. It's a moment when our tactile skills come into play. What's your favorite Silverstein poem?" If this quote came from anybody else I would say they were stuck on themselves. However it's coming from funny guy Shel Silverstein and I have a feeling he's one of those people who would have a problem telling you he was having a heart attack without making light of it. So I'd say it's just a funny comment he made, somewhat like singer and songwriter Mac Davis' song "Oh Lord It's hard to Be Humble." My favorite Shel Silversten poem is "Messy Room." I laugh every time I read that because his room sounds like my apartment, which is a typical bachelor pad. It's lucky to be thoroughly cleaned once a month and even then I can't do it much justice. I don't have any furniture to speak of and everything I have ends up piled up in a corner. So the poem "Messy Room"' reminds me of what I say about my apartment.   |
