"Ten Things"      The Blog City Prompt Forum prompt for Friday March 3, 2017 is "Let's create a list of ten things that happen at night. Look your list, what bothers you the most and what makes you the happiest? Are certain nights better than others?" My list will start with the five things that bother me the most and end with the five things I like the most. I like to end on a positive note. 1.) My neighbors seem to fight most at night. I don't know how many times my other neighbor or I have had to intervene for the sake of the rest of us. 2.) Trains go by. I live next to a railroad depot and a train goes through about every half hour or so. During the day it doesn't bother me but at night it gets pretty loud and bothersome. 3. Arthur and his brother Bruce come to visit. I don't like them "Itis" boys at all but they seem to be nightly companions any more. 4. The temperature drops. In the summer this never seems to happen. The house is always suffocating during the summer. During the winter though it seems the outside air temperature can get right down frigid. 5. I get hungry. I take medication that has to be taken on an empty stomach one half hour before or two hours after a meal. I have low blood sugar so when I awaken I want to eat. Due to the medication I can't. 1. I can sleep. When Arthur and his brother leave me alone I usually sleep pretty good. I'm getting accustomed to the trains now except when they blow their horns so I can sleep pretty good. 2.) I can work. I do much of my writing at night. I prefer it that way. 3. I talk to my girlfriend. She works during the day and can't call. 4. Talk to my family. My family all works, usually long hours so at night is often my only chance to talk to them. 5. Movies. I seldom watch television but if I do it is a night.   |
