Standardized Test Reliability

I believe standardized tests are a waste of time. I don't believe they necessarily measure how much a person has learned. Instead the give a rough estimate of how good a students short term memory is. There are students graduating high school who can't read or properly spell their own names, yet standardized tests say they are just as competent as A students. No I don't care for standardized tests.
