A krishna roams every street
O Krishna, don't come to this earth.
Now a days there is just no dearth
of your stand-ins whom one can meet
as a krishna roams every street.

They might not shine with your glory,
but they quote your words and story
rewriting every turn and feat
as a krishna roams every street.

They sit and declare right from wrong
forgetting what they did lifelong,
crushing sinners under their feet
as a krishna roams every street.

Your words will be lost in their shouts
their devotion will chew you out
You'll then have to accept defeat
as a krishna roams every street.

1. Krishna  Open in new Window. is a Hindu God who is said to have spoken Bhagavad Gita  Open in new Window.. The poem refers to the numerous (mis)interpretations that are committed here by the priests who considers themselves as equivalent to God. This is not meant to offend anyone as I myself am a believer of Lord, but it is meant to comment on the state of degrading religious values.

2. Form Used: Kyrielle Sonnet  Open in new Window.
