313 words in 15 minutes- Its hard to make something up as you go with no idea who this person is going to be. Quinton Grady- 35 years old, grew up in St. Paul in an upper middle class family. His father worked at Sperry Univac in R&D his mother a prolific author of historical romance novels. As a young man he loved art and took art classes all through school. His art work was good, but not exceptional, he liked the historical part of art and looking up artists. He scored high on all his homework and eventually his teacher told him he might be better at becoming something in the art world in historical research or an authenticator or even a gallery owner. He worked well with people and had a great personality for getting people to do their best. For his art club he found places to display the clubs’ artwork and promote the artists in many formats. After college and some internship his father passed away. With his inheritance he bought artwork and started a small gallery in a house on Grand Ave. His work and promotion gained him notoriety and he moved his gallery into St.Paul on St Peter street. The gallery isn’t very big, but he has a large clientele that call him to locate pieces and he does online sales. Quinton has finely defined features. Dark brown almost black hair, slightly tanned skin with the bluest almost grey eyes, and lips so kissable he had to run from the girls that chased him to his mother’s car. As a child his parents sent him to catholic school. His looks and build attracted more than just the little girls at the school. One Priest, Father Frances, took a special interest in Quinton. While Quinton had a good home life, his parents were socially active. They were invited to many parties, events and meetings. Quinton stayed home with Nanny Joan, woman that showed him some love and respect, but kept her place. Father Frances took Quinton and other boys on trips. To the zoo, museum and when Quinton showed interest in art, he paid for Quinton to go on art excursions where he was the chaperon. It was on one of these trips that Father Frances began his slow but insidious onslaught of sexual abuse on Quinton. It wasn’t until he was in his teens that he realized that what had gone on all these years was wrong. The games Father Frances played with the boys and between themselves were wrong. He quit the church and was ashamed at what happened. The other boys, like himself, didn’t talk about it or even share with each other what they did. |
