Let morning come
Let morning come

Let morning come
 moon setting
 mist parting
just after dawn
 the dark vanquished

Just after dawn
 seed-pecking
 heads bobbing
two mourning doves
 as hawks circle

Two mourning doves
 elms weeping
 oaks swaying
dark earth renewing
 God's promise

Dark earth renews
 kids waking
 eggs breaking
Grits on the run
 the job calling

Grits on the run
 car purring
 horns blaring
Work to be done
 the boss circles

Work must be done
 clocks ticking
 phones ringing
Lunch on the run
 the day dragging

Lunch on the run
 nay-saying
 bill paying
"Check's in the mail"
 the God-promise

Check on the mail
 eat supper
 watch movies
Tuck kids in bed
 an owl hooting

Tuck self in bed
 moon shining
 drapes swaying
Night hawks squawking
 the day ending

Night hawks silent
 dream-flying
 thoughts tossing
just before dawn
 Let morning come

ME:

Strong winds but no hail like in Oklahoma nor tornadoes like in SW Missouri. Elm branch has split and is in danger of falling on the house. The landlord has been informed.

Called Steve about finding a place in Emporia to live. It would be best if I can resolve this by the 15th so I do not get over-stressed.

Got Carol singing O Holy Socks; then Ranita joined in. *Rolleyes*

I've started going through clothes (Who needs 7 pairs of gloves? How did I end up with 7 pairs?). Must do papers, writings and books. Papers will be the most tedious; writings must be organized carefully; worn clothes can be tossed; books just need to be boxed and there aren't many.

Finished the movie "Hamsun" about Knut and Marie Hamsun, the Norwegian authors. Hamsun is known for his great novel Growth of the Soil; although I thought Hunger was awesome. The movie covers the time of the War when Hamsun supported the Germans over the British. He was also for Norwegian sovereignty, freedom and did not approve of how the Germans handled the occupancy. He lived to see himself branded as a traitor and wrote On Overgrown Paths before he died.
