| ME: I'm okay. Family is an odd species of animal. Can't lose them or run far enough away.  We are so different. The rough weather has avoided us so no news there. No idea what we have planned today. Last night went to an expensive restaurant. I wasn't hungry (even less so when I saw the prices) so I ordered a blooming onion and ate only a quarter. Guess who's eating onion today? Do military people only think of eat, drink, **** ? Only live for today? I wonder. There is a mix of religious fervor mixed-in here in Southern Missouri. The Christian Republic of America's Army will lead the Crusades. Met folks from Montana and Alberta, Marines from Washington and the Maldives. Still, there is a certain religious-military viewpoint. I will be glad to be back home. FOLLOW THE LEADER: I'm mostly enjoying the blog-a-round! I have already wrote my follow-up initial entry, but this my comment to Sarah Rae  entry "Invalid Entry"  which is a follow-up to FTL #3 of the same title:This is interesting way of putting it. I assume that there are more folks like you than me. I'm different. I will talk to any stranger. I may tell them the most personal things and not care about their reaction. Acquaintance? Most folks I worked and lived with were in reality only acquaintances. I would call them 'friends' but we-all know the difference. At this level I am more guarded. More protective of my back ... but not enough. I give more and expect more than is expected. And I am constantly misunderstood. Friends? Yeah, got a few. Can be very guarded because I want to trust, but I'm afraid to at this level. I don't do close friends. I don't let anybody within my walls. I shut out family most of all. I was raised with denial and secrets. I'm good at both. I know someone I would die for ... but is he my friend? Depends on whether you believe love can be a one-way street. It's a scary alleyway I am courageous enough to enter. L'aura del Campo still ranks #5 in viewership with 25,805 views. This blog, Enga mellom Fjella is #206 with 3,090 to date views. There are different ways to get views. The best is to write something worth reading! Humorous and thoughtful entries will always attract an audience. Confessional works here at WDC too. Political can slice both ways. Controversial blogs are sometimes avoided. Drama can help or hurt. It can be exciting and really up readership; however, we all know of someone who has left the site because their feelings were hurt, intentionally or not. A very narrow blog can attract a loyal but narrow audience. One that comments on current events may attract clicks from the internet. Our blogs are googled. Be careful naming names. Do not make threats. A rant: I strongly disagree that a blog is a genre that cannot be tweaked. It should NOT be defined as a fictional/non-fictional account of one's personal life. That would be a CONFESSIONAL blog and I read many of those, so no prob there; however, there are OPINION blogs, WRITING blogs and so on. Everyone has the right to write and the freedom to define their blog as they choose. Putting people down about how they do their personal blog shows a certain immaturity. Grow up! Audience. Tell ALL your friends, send them the address in a form they can click on; make it EASY. On-line at WDC read other people's blogs and invite folks to read yours. It takes work and perseverance. I believe it is worth it. Two of the best bloggers, Nada and Tor, read a lot of blogs and are read in return. They are two of the many pillars of Blogville.
