Sleet, slush and cyclones
Winter 19 'Ala (March 20)

2006-03-20
morning, 35 degrees. 78 in Cairns, Queensland.

It would help if one could just add flavored syrup to the sticky iced precipitation coming down.

Three thoughts on sleet I wrote down this morning:

1. Sleet-dams caught on the twigs of last week's storm.
2. Sleet-bars between the rivulets of ice melt.
3. Sleet and the crunch beneath the feet; the slip-slide brick, moist and glistening.
4. Drifts of sleet collecting in the corners like dust.

Cyclone Larry pounded Australia, so things here could be worse. Lots of Aussies on-line, some from the affected area.

GeTtInG To KnOw Me

162. The title just about says it all. I prefer life to be smooth. It is anything but. The last year has not been enjoyable.

163. Tomorrow begins the Year 163 in the Bahá'í Era. I'll still be the same-old me.

O SON OF MAN! Deny not My servant should he ask anything from thee, for his face is My face; be then abashed before Me.

~ Bahá'u'lláh, Arabic Hidden Words #30

Going down Ohio

Red birds
greet the tulips,
flash through daffodils, flit
through green-haze privet branches, sing
of Spring [162.808b]

Short blog entry. May not get a chance to do more today. Must hurry off to lunch.

vespers, 39 degrees. 34 and snowy in Omaha. A nice 48 in Tulsa.

Made it back! What flavor Nada asks? Orange or blackberry or black currant. Haven't had currant in a long time. Prefer the black to red.
