My Boyfriend Likes to Sing and Dance
first to correctly identify the sources of ten of these twenty sets of lyrics--without cheating, honor system--wins gps and my instant friendship. all from mixes made for or by marcus.

1. "see me as if you never knew,
hold me so you can't let go...
just believe in me, i will make you see
all the things that your heart needs to know."

2. "leave all the lights on
so we can see the black cat changing colors,
and we can walk under ladders
and swim as the tide turns you around and around."

3. "come join the warner brothers and the warner sister dot!
just for fun we run around the warner movie lot!
they lock us in the tower whenever we get caught,
but we break loose and then vamoose and now you know the plot!"

4. "like where can i be, you're killin' me
with your jealousy, when my ambition's to be free,
i can't breathe, 'cause soon as i leave it's like a trap--
i hear you callin' me to come back."

5. "thirty-eight twenty-four thirty-seven?
you and me honey, we're a match made in heaven.
i like to kiss you where some brothers don't,
i like to tell you things some brothers won't."

6. "sont des mots qui vont tres bien ensemble,
tres bien ensemble.

i love you, i love you, i love you,
but you should know by now."

7. "and there's a weepy old willow,
he really knows how to cry.
that's how i'd cry in my pillow
if you grew tired and just said goodbye."

8. "there's an old, such a hungry yearning
burning inside of me,
and its torment won't be through
till you let me spend my life making love to you."

9. "my mother was a tailor.
she sewed my new blue jeans.
my father was a gamblin' man
down in new orleans."

10. "even though the pain and heartache
seem to follow me wherever i go,
though i try and try to hide my feelings
they always seem to show!"

11. "pretty girl,
sure is fine.
lookin' good
on the soul train."

12. "i'm gonna make a change
for once in my life.
it's gonna feel real good, gonna make a difference,
gonna make it right."

13. "so why not promise her rubies?
even diamonds?
she'd trade them all
for a plain golden wedding ring..."

14. "now when it's rainy i don't miss the sun
because it's in my baby's smile, o-ho,
and to think that i'm the lucky one
that will lead her down the aisle, o-ho-oh-ho."

15. "in you i have what other men long for.
all men need someone to worship and adore.
that's why i treasure you and place you high above,
'cause the only joy in life is to be loved."

16. "opportunity knocks once,
let's reach out and grab it,
together we'll nab it,
we'll hitchhike, bus or yellow cab it!"

17. "i guess i must be dumb. she had a pocket full of horses--
trojan and some of them used,
but it was saturday night, i guess that makes it all right,
and i said what have i got to lose?"

18. "those who have seen your face
turn back in fear.
i am the mask you wear,
it's me they hear."

19. "harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding.
no more forces of derision, golden living dreams of vision,
mystic crystal revelations
and the mind's true liberation."

20. "yes, you lied to me all these years!
you told me to wash and clean my ears,
and talk real fine, just like a lady,
and you'd stop calling me sister sadie."

okay, so...if you get even five, and you really really promise you didn't cheat, gps. because ten seems like a lot.

play with me. i had a long day. these are all pretty basic, nothing obscure, because i figured easier songs would yield more takers.
