AMEND ME—an acrostic
AMEND ME—an acrostic

[A prayer to the Lord to amend the repentant sinner]

How I wish that ere I go
And exit from this world,
People may say I deserve,
Perhaps, a praising word!

Years and years I have wasted,
Holding my selfish shows.
At no time I was concerned
Regarding others’ woes.

Verily I have sinned but,
Ere I do meet my end,
So it may please you, O Lord,
That, me, You may amend.
