JACK AND JILL AND HALLOWEEN
JACK AND JILL AND HALLOWEEN

[A poem for children]

Once Jack and Jill
Had a pastil
Made for the Halloween.
They side by side,
Did hide inside,
A hollow tree trunk clean.

But then night came
And Jack became
Afraid and struck a match.
Lo, and behold,
From it an old,
And smiling ghost did hatch!

The ghost said I
Won’t hurt. Don’t cry.
I’m hungry give me bread.
Both Jack and Jill
Gave their pastil
And from there, trembling, fled.
