| I Today I’m home in my old blue jeans. Funny how the blue of blue jeans is a neutral, Funny how this blue by default is not blue. Anything goes, with blue jeans. My shirt is green. II My brother wore a blue suit to be wed, a duck egg blue piped in navy blue with a floppy bow tie of blue at the throat. It was the height of fashion. I did not like it. III He is sleeping in his wife-beater, looking like a labourer, biceps displayed, body vulnerable, as exposed pits invite tickles. Wife-beater blue is the non-blue of jeans, a working man blue without the blue collar. IV All the men on the panel, at the table, on the screen, with the microphones & cameras, they all wear suits of blue. Sky or navy, pale, electric, the mode is blue. Important Men wearing ugly blue suits. V I am wrapped in a blue blanket or is it a shroud? Sadness consumes, none of my questions have answers.  |
