best Breakfast Epulaeryu Full Southern Breakfast is my favorite I love my bacon and eggs pancakes and hashbrowns grits, sausage, and toast hot coffee Great! The Epulaeryu, concocted by Joseph Spence, Sr., is all about delicious food. The structure consists of 7 lines arranged with lines of 7, 5, 7, 5, 5, 3, 1 syllables. Each line contains a separate thought about a meal or portion, with the final line concluded with an exclamation point to express the excitement, as described and demonstrated in the following links: http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/epulaeryu.html Epulaeryu The Epulaeryu poem is all about delicious food. It consists of seven lines with thirty-three (33) syllables. The first line has seven (7) syllables, the second line five (5), the third line seven (7), the fourth line five (5), the fifth line five (5), the sixth line three (3), and the seventh line has only one (1) syllable which ends with an exclamation mark. The form is 7/5/7/5/5/3/1. Each line has one thought which is about the main course. Therefore, this poetic form, the Epulaeryu, which has corresponding lines built around the main course and ending with an exclamation point, concludes with the ending line expressing the writer’s excitement and feelings about the poem. The poem may be rhymed or unrhymed. The Epulaeryu poem was developed by Joseph Spence, Sr. The name of the poetic form was selected as a result of experiencing the Mediterranean and Far East cultures, and enjoying many succulent and nourishing meals and food during those memorable travels. My favorite breakfast is a full southern style breakfast at a dinner like IHOP or Denny’s consisting of bacon, biscuits with gravy, eggs or omelet (my favorite is either the Denver style or Mexican style) grits, ham, fresh juice and hot coffee. Sometimes I may eat a Mexican burrito as well. Grits are a very Southern American thing that still defines the American South as different from the rest of the country. They are served with every meal especially for Breakfast. Never ask for instant grits! Just saying…. Southerners like the fully loaded breakfast instead of more healthier fare like cereal, granola or yogurt and fruit. Breakfast in the South is a big deal, something non-Southerns may not fully appreciate. |
