Poetic Painting
A painting is very much like a poem.
The artist takes greatest care to choose
Only the most colorful words and hues
To bring their mental image into form.
What comes to mind right now, you ask?
Surrealist nuances, symbols of pain
A heart tied in ropes, suspended in rain
Held by dualist birds, white and black.
Hanging, first to last, a moment in time
Endlessly waiting, hope never arrives
Wondering why I am even alive
Yet having to smile, saying "I'm fine."
Stunning images burst in my head
I'm not a great painter, so I write them instead.
106 words, 14 lines, ABBA, etc and a final couplet.
