February 2024,Book 2: Basil of Baker Street
Basil of Baker Street is the first book in the Great Mouse Detective series by Eve Titus.

The famous detective of mousedom, Basil lives in the basement of Sherlock Holmes's house. A devoted admirer of the great detective, Basil learned his craft at the feet of Holmes himself. The Mystery of the Missing Twins may be his most baffling case yet. With only of few crumbs of clues with which to find answers, how will he find where Angela and Agatha are being kept and who mouse-napped them.

Having enjoyed the movie inspired by this series, I also enjoyed this book very much. It's well-written and cohesive. The characters are clear and distinct. The plot is solid, and the mystery is well-set up. The solution to the mystery makes sense and doesn't feel forced or make the reader feel dumb. This is a great book for young people getting into mysteries. I also recommend this book for adults who enjoy mysteries. There is a coziness and simplicity that can be calming.
