New Beginnings
Rising again from what looks like the end
Standing up firm when others would bend
Losing everything, at a loss where to go
I see a path forward, though little I know
The struggle is real and it tires me out
But hope flames higher than all the doubt
Life always changes, new every day
Clinging to sameness is never the way
Forward I move one step at a time
Wondering why I bothered making this
rhyme…
Poetry and life are rather the same
Sometimes they rhyme
and other times
The meter doesn't fit
and it hardly makes sense
But I carry on regardless
Pen to a blank page, beginning afresh
Creating new beauty from ashes and dust.
