Her Story-No. 47 Prompt
Prompt: Her Story No. 47
You find a doll that looks exactly like you.

I was out shopping and bought make up at Sephora. I went to Kohls and bought some new tops. I saw a new Gift Shop at the mall. I decided I would stop in and see what they had. Dolls. I do love dolls. Imagine my surprise when I found a doll that looked exactly like me. She was wearing a lavender dress, my favorite color. Why did this doll look exactly like me? A sales person came up to me and did a double take when she saw the doll.

"It's you. You are beautiful like that doll."

"Where did that doll come from?" I asked.

"My ex-husband designed dolls. He designed that one of you. He said he dated you at college. He loved you and never got over you. We divorced. I don't hate you but I was always jealous of you."

I looked at the woman. "Scott. He broke up with me for another woman."

"Scott went out on me all the time. We divorced. He told me he was sorry for the way he treated you. He never stopped loving you. He designed dolls. He designed that one of you. I am under contract to sell his dolls he designs. You, the doll showed up."

"I'm sorry. I had no idea. I married someone else. I love my husband. I'm sorry."

"It's alright. Take the doll. I won't charge you for it. You know, there is probably more then one dollof you out there. You should feel honored."

The saleswoman put the doll in a box and handed it to me. She told me to enjoy the doll and have a nice day.

I took the doll home and put it in my Doll Room. My husband never saw it. I am glad. I didn't want to tell him an ex-boyfriend still loved me and designed this doll after me. I feel lucky. This doll is my favorite.
