Soundtrack of Your Life Entry #7 Collide
Day 7 of "The Soundtrack of Your LifeOpen in new Window. challenge. *Bigsmile*

The next song up is...
Collide by Howie Day

I feel like I probably added this to my playlist around the same time as "Night Changes" (see previous entry "Soundtrack of Your Life Entry #6 Night ChangesOpen in new Window.). This romantic ballad shares the same sweet tone. I first saw this song when I was watching the dancing competition show "So You Think You Can Dance". It was used as the background track for the following routine

Just to provide a little bit of background, this was one of the best routines performed on the show. It was choreographed by the season 2 runner up Travis Wall and the two dancers performing it Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd went win 1st and 2nd place respectively in their season.

It was an incredibly beautiful routine where you can feel the chemistry between the two dancers. They were in complete sync with each other matching their partner's movements perfectly. Using "Collide" as the soundtrack was a great pick on Travis' part. The song highlighted everything the dancers brought out. It was fast, fluid, intense and sweet. I feel like music can often make or break a dance routine and this one elevated it to a sizzlingly hot level. Vice versa because I associate this spectacular dance routine with this song, I can't help smiling and feeling a sense of warmth and appreciation when the song is played.
