An Optimistic Outlook

There's going to be a lot of knocking on wood this writing activity because I am cautiously optimistic about the future. If I had tried this exercise for 2020 prior to the pandemic becoming recognized as a major problem I never would have guessed how chaotic last year would have been. The idea of a Viral outbreak, murder hornets, riots and cities on fire sounds like something out of an apocalyptic dystopian future film.

By comparison, I think the end of the 2021 will be much more restrained. With a new president now certified who I am a little more confident in, I think that we will pull out of the Pandemic and return to some level of normal. The stimulus package will pass and the vaccine rollout will begin to noticeably take effect over the summer. By the end of the year we might even be able to celebrate in public. I still think the annual Time Square New Year's eve celebration will be much more restrained because people will still be cautious about going out.

As for some more wilder predictions, the fact that "Shanty Tock" became popular on tick tock leads me to believe that there will be some more crazy trends to watch out for before the year is up. Maybe people will recognize the acoustic boast provided by singing into an electric fan and start posting videos of themselves doing that. I also suspect that the color Turquoise is going to become hard to come by. If you see any companies selling vintage Turquoise t-shirts or Turquoise crayons, it might be a good time to invest in them now.

Have a good 2022!
