Well, here it goes! 'The Bard's Hall Contest' got me blogging again, so wish me luck! |
You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. -- Maya Angelou Here I go again, blogging! I'm doing this for:
My blog picture above is located in the beautiful, scenic Sedona, Arizona. We vacationed there at the end of December, 2019 thru January 2020 - right around when the pandemic began. What a chaotic year it was, too! A scary time for all of us! I am hoping that this blog will show my creativity, heart, and soul, and reveal a little more of myself. I'm a shy person at heart and don't post too much in Newsfeed, but I love reading what others are saying. I'm off to post my first blog... |
Today in Strangeness: November 23, 2024 Over 100 ducks were knocked out of the sky during a storm over Stuttgart, Arkansas on this day in 1973. Some ducks were jarred by irregularly-shaped hail, others were frozen, picked up by a tornado, coated in ice high above the clouds, and then dropped. Today in Strangeness: One evening on November 22, 1987, the Max Headroom broadcast signal intrusion incident took place. An intruder wearing a Max Headroom mask successfully interrupted the signal of two Chicago TV stations with their video broadcast featuring various antics. Today in Strangeness: On November 20, 1820, an 80 ft. sperm whale attacked the Essex, an American whaling ship, 2,000 miles off the coast of South America. The 80-ton whale's impact put a hole in the Essex causing the ship to capsize, though the crew managed to escape to another vessel. Herman Melville's classic 1851 novel, Moby Dick, was inspired by this famous maritime disaster. |
My clock decided to jump ahead Saturday morning instead of Sunday morning. I woke up at 7:00 when it was supposed to be 6:00. I was wondering why it was so dark outside, but if the clock says 7:00 I can't argue with it. Let's just say, all day I felt tired losing that hour. What happened Saturday night, I once again forgot that tomorrow was daylight saving time for real. So, instead of going to bed at 11:00, I went to bed at midnight I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME - at its beginning. Otherwise, I'm okay with it. |
I hated the green new deal the minute it was brought up in 2019 by Alexander Ocasio-Cortez - Preaching it would be great for the 'carbon footprint' to eliminate cow farts. Sounds stupid, right? Now I find out today that they are cutting down 16 million trees to put up windmills! When is the stupidity going to end? The recession is here and it is going to get worse, We need a new president that doesn't do stupid things and tries to destroy our country. On a lighter note, did you see this peculiar piece of footage circulating online? It's picturing a woman, in the UK, seemingly seems frozen in time - an eerie moment for sure! Could it be a proverbial glitch in the matrix? Little is known about the circumstances surrounding the odd video, also shared on Tik Tok last week. In the footage, a woman seems to be stuck in mid-stride as she strolls down the sidewalk and one bewildered witness exclaims "Why is she frozen?" Although she resumes walking a few seconds later, the individual who filmed the video claims that she had remained still "for a minute." If nobody saw this phenomenon, the link is down below. https://www.coasttocoastam.com/article/watch-strange-viral-video-shows-woman-fro... |
WOW! I was so happy to see this headline in the Epoch Times. White House Revives Trump-Era Policy, Limits Asylum Eligibility Ahead of Title 42 Expiration I thought for sure we would have an invasion at the southern border in epic proportions! I mean we already had 5.5 million illegals have already crossed our borders since Biden took office, plus, who knows how many got-a-ways there were. Because of this, crime is at an all-time high, plus reforms such as ending cash bail, defunding the police, refusing to prosecute entire categories of crime, and letting out convicted felons out of prison early leave me speechless. Why and Who would do this? These soft-on-crime policies have wreaked havoc in our cities where they have implemented those policies. It is not hard for me to understand why “reforms” such as ending cash bail, defunding the police, refusing to prosecute entire categories of crimes, letting thousands of convicted felons out of prison early, significantly cutting the prison population, and other “progressive” ideas have led to massive spikes in crime—particularly violent crime, including murder—in the communities where some officials have implemented them. |
The first day of spring is officially here today. We have already seeded out tomatoes in the greenhouse, and they are beginning to sprout new growth. I can't wait to put my winter coat and gloves away - I want the days to warm up once again. We had a lot of snow this winter, and can't wait for it all to melt away. I love Spring - when all the trees sprout new growth, and the grass turns green after a good rain. The flowers, such as the tulips, start to bloom those pretty colors of yellow, red, and pink which are the colors in our garden. Spring is a miraculous experience. The whole world comes alive after the winter in which everything seems dead, and everything comes alive, and my life is filled with color and wonderful scents surrounding me once again. The world that seemed so dull and cold has come alive. Spring gives me hope for rejuvenation in all our lives as well, and going out and enjoying the beautiful spring weather (without coats and gloves). |
What a Christmas for 2022! I thought we were going to get a blizzard and ruin everything, but we were lucky and dodged the bullet. Our family made it, even with gust up to 35mph winds! We had a wonderful family get-together, everyone was in good health. No one was sick this time. They al take their D3, vitamin c, and zinc combination along with Ivermectin every three days. This helps keep the sickness at bay. Our Christmas tree looks so beautiful with all the presents beneath it. We didn't forget the meaning of Christmas and said a reading from the bible remembering Baby Jesus born on Christmas. Day. I look outside and see all the snow piled up after grading. Who knew we would get this much snow! Minnesota is living up to its name, I guess. Luckily, we are getting a break, and a warmer week awaits us. The horses sure loves this weather! They are running, rolling in the snow, having a good time. |
My husband is in the VA hospital and will be getting out today. I'm so happy because it sucks being alone. My children visit me which helped me get through this. I'm so happy the operation went through without any snags. We're fixing my daughter's jeep. It's looking better and better. She'll have fun driving it when it's done. It was a long wait, but finally, this whole process is coming to an end. Today started out cloudy and I thought for sure it would rain. The sun is now shining and looks very inviting to go out and catch some sun rays. It's also breezy, which makes it all the better. I think today is the day I try making a trinket just to see if I can. |
Prompt 7 - Take a drive down memory lane and arrive at the Drive-In Theater. (circa ????) Tell us about your first experience attending a Drive-in movie. Be as descriptive as your memory allows. Only write about your very first experience. We'll have 3 more Saturday night Drive-in prompts this month. ************************************************************************************** I remember when our family went to see "The Parent Trap" at the drive-in. It was the most memorable movie that I can recall the whole thing. I loved the actress Haley Mills! Other times my brother and I would just fool around with our cousins, not really watching the movie. I really hated it when it rained, then we were stuck in the car and watching a boring western. We didn't cause any trouble with the other people trying to watch the movie, but had fun going to the refreshment stand, or sitting on the bench that was placed closer to the movie screen. Then we tried to lip read and giggle at what we brought up. Those were the good ole days! I remember once when the movie was so bad that my parents left without seeing the whole movie. That's when we would go out to eat, then go to the park until dark. We loved feeding the ducks our left-overs. |
Prompt 6: Describe the plot of one of your favorite comedy movies WITHOUT saying the movie's title. Challenge your readers to guess the title of the movie you described. ******************************************************************* One of my favorite comedies - is when two men from Washington D.C., divorce mediators decide to crash weddings. They become very good at it until one of these women became very scary. She said, "Don't ever leave me cause I'll find you!" I mean this could send chills down any playboy back. The bed scene is when one of the playboys gets tied up by his girlfriend and leaves. When this freaky brother brings him a painting, saying, "I made you a painting. I call it 'Celebration.' It's sexual and violent. I thought you might like it." The playboy facial expressions make me laugh. In the shooting scene when they go out hunting, one playboy shoots the other in the ass. I love their give and take on that one. Another funny scene. When one of these playboys finds someone he wants to marry, the other is lonely and goes to see another famous wedding crasher who has switched to finding women at funerals saying, "Grief is nature's most powerful aphrodisiac." This one wasn't funny, it was an embarrassing situation all around. There were others, but this movie I could watch again. Yes, it's sexual, but the funny parts won me over. Its rating is seven stars out of ten. |
