I am a retired mechanical engineer. In my profession writing was the antithesis of creativity. We dealt in facts with no jabberwocky allowed. As a youth I dabbled in writing short stories, but with no serious results. Now, I find it fun and rewarding to build a story or a poem around an idea or an experience of mine.
