There is a reason for all the thing that happen.
As soon as she walked in, she felt the tension in the four-wall room. Her naked feet rooted on the hard, cold floor, letting her brown doe eyes wandered around. Eliana caught a brawny man stood before a lady on a white carpet, in the middle of the room. The girl stepped closer, almost giggling when her feet touched the soft, grassy carpet, and stopped, observing the two adults. Her presence there was like the wind, because they still in their position, ignoring her.

A sigh came out from her mouth, knowing they can’t see and hear her.

“Who do you think you are? A slave? She’s nobody to you. You shouldn’t follow her order.” The man cold deep voice sent shivers to Eliana’s spine, leading her to stride closer to the woman, and a low sob greeted her ears. She glanced behind the lady, spotting a small girl holding the hem of the woman’s dress, which Eliana assumed was the woman’s daughter.

“Sir, she is your wife, mean she’s also my master.” She answer without hesitation.

“Who tell you she’s your master? I am your master. I’m the one who pays you, not her. I don’t see the need for you to follow her prescribe.” The lady raised her head, revealing her beautiful eyes.

Eliana’s mouth ajar. She had seen those eyes before.

“I’m sorry, sir. I promise I’ll only listen to your order.”

“Good. Now, come here.” he stretched his muscular arm, a gesture for the woman to go to him. The girl’s grasp harden, causing her fist to become white, stopping her mother’s step.

“Teresa,” Eliana’s heart hammered in her chest and she forgot how to breath. The name sound familiar, but it can’t be her. There are many ‘Teresa’ is this world, not only her. She can’t help, however her instinct telling her this woman is the one she missing since she placed in the house. Teresa’s brown, doe eyes was the proof.

This woman is her mother.

Pang!

She closed her apart mouth with her hand, shocked by the sudden violent.

Teresa fell on the carpet while the girl ran to get her mother. Eliana took the chance to see the girl’s eyes and nearly drop when the girl’s big eyes stared at the woman with worry in them. She believed the girl was the younger version of her, in her five years old, which was 11 years ago.

“Mom,” a kick landed on the lady’s belly, making her to bite her lower lip, averting a screech from coming out. The man foot about to reach the woman again before a light force pushed him away. “you’re a bad man. Don’t come closer.” the man leveled his height with hers, displaying a cold expression on his face.

“How sweet. A girl defending her own mother, huh. You should defend yourself first.” confusion showed in Eliana’s eyes before they went larger, looking at the shrieking girl as he pulled the girl’s hair, letting the girl’s head tilting upward.

“No, sir. Please, let Eliana go. You can hurt me as much as you want. I beg you. Let her go!” Tears flowed on the woman’s pale cheek when he aimed a knife on the girl’s neck.

Eliana quivered on her place, her hands cold and her legs wobbly. She gazed at the younger version of her and before she could react, her head ache and darkness control her.

“Eliana, wake up! It’s time to go to school.” Eliana snapped her eyes, letting herself sat on her bed, reflecting what had happened just now.

She saw her mother, her biological mother. At the moment, she knows the reason why she was there. It’s not because her mother threw her away when she was a baby, but it’s because her mother sacrificed her life for her to live.
