This is very interesting, and yes, after you professed your "bleeding heart" as a liberal, I am somewhat (pleasantly surprised) of your conclusion on the issue. I for one believe that socialized medicine will never work in America; nor would I want it to be implemented.

I once sufferred from an illness that required a hospital stay; regretfully, I was unemployed and uninsured. I thought that was going to be the end of me. Wrong. I received government assistance that paid my medical bills, and even gave me temporary financial assistance for about six months till I found a job and got on my own two feet. America is not so bad.

A few technical comments:

As such, I would like to share my observations regarding the advantages and disadvantages of socialized in Japan.
There should be "medicine" after "socialized"

you can worry about your health, no your wallet.
          Change "no" to "not"

If I am asked pay more than, say, $30 for such a visit, I feel ripped off.

          Insert "to" after "asked"

Sun rises, bursting glitter
over lean shadows at play
frolicking reflections
tall grass and
amber-licked orchids
tender folds release
their tense waiting
pollen love. . .

One word: WOWWOWWOW!!! *Smile*

Showing images like this is something I struggle to achieve, but you, girl, obviously has no problem with it. I can look out the window and see all the details, but for the life of me, I cannot paint them with words. Please, my mentor, show me how to do it.

Hey girl ... I've been a stranger; sorry. But it looks like you have been a stranger, too. I note that you've been absent from WDC for quite sometime. Hope your writing is going well. You write so engagingly, I'd hate to see you drop out from this university.

Where Is The Literary Ambrosia? Indeed. I've been searching all over myself. But why do you ask? This work of yours, in my opinion, has to be a personal best. It would be if it were mine. Girl, this is quite enticing, and to think that it's all about the process of writing. My, my, my. No wonder it has garnered nothing but 5 stars. Congratulations.

Happy to be mentored by such an excellent writer.

Hey ... it's been a while, but I'm lurking back, and per your request, read this poem: "Home Town Hero" -- quite different from my cliche expectation of a hometown hero (a man in uniform). Nonetheless, I had fun reading it. We should all aspire same attention and treatment by the babes when we get old.

One correction: brunetts is spelled brunettes

I always like any discussion about time--linear time, that is. I admire your openness about the seven months you spent in solitary confinement. I was a troubled teenager who spent 6 mos. in jail when I was 17. Drugs entered my innocent life while I let heavy metal music rule my head as a rock star wannabe with a small band. Unlike you, I was guilty of the punishment, and God is my witness, never shall I let that happen to me again.

You know what? I understand completely how you managed to write all those hundreds of pages of manuscripts while in solitary confinement. I made use of my time while in jail and wrote song lyrics and short stories. My work cannot compare to yours, but with some editing, I think they can be readable.

Yes, there is an adult onset ADD. I definitely got it. I'm constantly losing/misplacing something. I'm too poor to own one of them thumb drives, so I still use CD-Rs to archive my work. My place is small but I manage to always misplace them. *Frown*

This is terrific writing. I hope to read more of your work someday -- esp. the story about your solitary confinement.

I am a 20-something college dropout; tried singing with a small town rock band, which diid not pan out; got a real job, and now trying to do something different. In the back of my mind I've always thought I possess the talent with the written word. I remember how I secretly tried to write poems--something the cool boys would think of as something sissy. Well, I'm an adult now, and I don't care what the "cool" boys think. (The girls happen to like it. *Smile*

So here I am, experimenting and exploring to see if the real writers here think I can write. I've been surfing this site, and I think your group could be just the best place to start. I've been reading all the comments posted, and I might just be right.

You're doing a great welcoming job to newbies like me. Thank you.
