Dear One


There are things I long to tell you
But my words get in the way.
If only you knew the way I feel
Each and every day.

I cannot help but think of you
No matter how I try,
I see your face in everything,
The sun, the moon, the sky.

I miss you while we're far apart.
Return and make me whole.
Then I can look into your eyes,
And see into your soul.

I thank the Lord for sending you
Every chance I get,
Into my life which held a void
Until the day we met.

I hope this gives you but a glimpse
Of just how much you mean,
I've never felt this way before,
I must be in a dream.

Take care, dear one, and think of me
The way I think of you.
Perhaps one day we'll be as one,
