Victoria was restored to her normal height

"Well, that was one great dismal failure," Hailey said, as she ran over to her friend Victoria, to see how she felt. Victoria assured her friend she felt all right.

"Not to worry," Bob assured the two women, as he systematically shut the power down to the shrinking device, "We'll get her working again in no time."

But Bob was to be proven wrong. The funding for the project was cut off, the machine was dismantled, and he would never have a chance to shrink another human being again.
