Beliamon's Home Cooked Meal

    by: Mizu Author IconMail Icon
'That stupid little brat! I worked so hard on cooking him an actual dinner when I could have just magicked one and that's the thanks I get. I should just poison him, Cherubimon would be just as happy...'

These thoughts whirled through Beliamon's head as she furiously stomped her way back to the kitchen, fully intent on letting him starve.

"Although..." Beliamon bit her lip. "I would get in trouble for not following Cherubimon's orders...and I can't afford provoking his wrath now..."

Beliamon paused a moment and shivered a bit.

"No....not now or not ever again..." She muttered, quickly picking up her pace again to prevent certain memories coming to her that she didn't want to remember.

Finally returning to the kitchen, she eyed the wonderful, delicious, delectible dinner that she had COOKED, to only have Kouji refuse: Several helpings of roast beef, flavored with saffron and ginseng, an ample serving of mashed potatoes, several rolls with butter, a tankard of frosty milk, and a small sized sundae. The meal, wasn't perfect, but again Beliamon hadn't used her magic. If she had, she could have made a meal twenty times as better and fifty times as tasty as the one before her.

The kitchen, though still natural, was a bit more modernized than the room Kouji was in, what she called the common room. The walls here were made of a blue stone instead of brown and a skylight let light drift down into the room, and like the one in the common room, as well as all the other skylights in the temple, this one had been magicked to prevent intrusion or escape. Littered around the room were several structures that looked like kitchen appliances, fashioned out of a black stone. Long ago, Beliamon had learned that the Mages of this temple had commisioned some artisan digimon in the far south to make appliances for them so they would not have to venture out of the temple for food. That had been when Beliamon was still classified as an 'in-training' digimon, and when Ayzahn Ra and this temple had still been flourishing. Amazingly, the appliances still worked and the Mages had left great stores of food behind, magicked to prevent spoiling. Also in the room were a 'table and chairs' similar to the ones in the common room, but smaller. Also, like the common room, several other pasageways branched off of the kitchen.

After she had finished the meal, she had magicked it to keep what should have been hot, hot, and what should have been cold, cold, to observe her captive.

She had been delighted when he had caved into his cravings for the meat apple, but her good mood had been nigh eliminated when he refused to come eat his dinner.

Sighing, Beliamon again glanced at the food before her and contemplated a bit. Rolling her eyes, she decided that she might as well take his food to him. He WAS going to eat, sooner or later. He wasn't just about to let himself starve, unless he wanted to eat the occasional bug crawling across the floor, and she wasn't about to let him get thin again and have his way with her. If she didn't feed him, he was liable to lose all the weight he'd already acquired.

Eventually, he'd start eating more, and hopefully, he'd open up to her. That's when he would willingly eat whatever she gave to him.

Her mood lifting a bit, she put all of the food on a tray and levitated it beside herself and she quickly walked back towards the common room.

Surprisingly, Kouji wasn't in the same position she'd left him in, but what she saw made her blood boil: He'd left the comfort of his straw bed and was on the floor a few feet away struggling to do some sit-ups.

Immeadiately, she pranced over to his position and hoisted him off of the ground. He was red in the face and beginning to sweat and his shirt had once hiked up during his exercise. At first startled by Beliamon and her angry expression and the tray of food hovering next to her, his face quickly formed a scowl.

"May I ask what you were doing?" Belimon asked, her anger obvious but controlled.

Kouji snorted ans crossed his arms.

"Not that its nay of your business, but as you pointed out earlier, I'm getting fat and I was trying to lose the extra pounds I'd gained." He explained.

"You will NOT do any exercise while you are MY prisoner."

"And WHY not?"

Beliamon almost blurted out 'Because you're supposed to be GAINING weight.', but bit her tongue. Calming herself, she quickly thought up an excuse.

"Because you havn't eaten anything. If you don't eat, you'll run out of energy. Not to mention the floor of this temple is rough. You'll hurt yourself. From now on, I forbid any exercise at all." Belaimon said regally while pushing Kouji back to his 'bed'.

"And if I don't listen?" Kouji taunted.

Beliamon's eyes darkened and Kouji felt a wave of power rush out from her. She smirked as she liad the tray of food on his lap.

"DO you really want to know?" She asked playfully.

Kouji just glared at her, and then the food.

"I told you I'm not eating anything you give me." He remarked.

Beliamon gave him a withering look and sighed, pinching a small piece of roast beef and poppin it into her mouth.

"See, its not poisonous." She tried to ease his worry.

"What about the other food?" Kouji questioned, still suspicious.

Her eyebrow started to tick in irritation but Beliamon quickly sampled a bit of all of the other food on Kouji's plate, making sure he saw her chew and swallow.

Kouji again glanced the food for a moment, and back to her.

"How can I be sue you not just immune to whatever you put in it?" He asked again.

Beliamon growled in annoyance at Kouji's five-hundrendth question and bent down to come an inch form his face.

"I assure you that I did not in any way, shape, or form poison ro tamper with your food," She assured, a vein visible on her forehead. "Now will you please just eat!?"

Kouji's eyes widened at her outburst, but again looked at the food. She felt a small glimmer of satisfaction when she saw him lick his lips. He looked back and forth between her and the food a few mometns before sighing in defeat.

"There's not enough light." HE said matter-of-factly.

A smile coming to her lips, Beliamon waved her hand and a fire appeared in the pit under the skylight behing Kouji. She laughed a bit when he jumped at the sudden light and noise of the fire.

"H-how did you do that!?" He asked in bewilderment as Beliamon took a seat in the floor across from him. "I thought you said that your powers were derived from Darkness!"

Beliamon shrugged.

"I said my specialty was Darkness. I can do other magic and draw power from other elements as well. I told you that I used to live in the village beyond this cave of a temple, a village of quite powerful mages. I learned most of my magic, there." She said simply.

Oh...I see." Was all Kouji said as he poked his food, and the two sat in relative silence for a while, with only the occasional sound from deeper within the temple to keep them company.

"I thought you said the floor was uncomfortable?" Kouji asked after a while.

"I'm not sitting."

Kouji looked at her strangely for a moment before she realized she was levitating just an inch or so off of the ground.

Flabbergasted, Kouji almost choked on a piece of roast beef. Beliamon giggled as she waited for him to right himself.

You really must be powerful. Most digimon, to my knowledge, don't have those types of abilities, and most have to shout the names of their attacks." Kouji replied, a thoughtful look on his face.

Beliamon nodded, an almost sad look to her face.

"In Ayzahn Ra, there were many more powerful digimon than I....but yes, if I used an actual attack, it would be more powerful. I cna't just use them any time, though. They take a lot of energy, physical and magical. I can't use hem like I use my normal magic." She explained.

So there's no limit to the type of magic yu're using now?" Kouji asked in wonder.

Beliamon chuckled.

"No, of course not. Everything has it limits, magic included. And everything...has an end..." Beliamon trailed off a sad look once again in her eyes.

The two once sat again in silence, and Kouji watched Belimaon with that look till present in her eyes. Finally, he decided to break the silence with a question.

You said that my friends or even Trailmon couldn't get here, why is that?" He asked.

Beliamon jumped, snapped out of her reverie, and looked at Kouji suspiciously for a moment before coming to the decision that it was safe to tell him.

On your ventures across the Digital World, you've came across a few areas like bottomless pits have you not?" She questioned.

Kouji nodded.

"These are ares in which the data that compromised them had been completely detroyed or absorbed by Cherubimon or his followers." She explained as Kouji gasped.

"We...knew that he was gathering data from Digimon...", Kouji murmured, shocked. "But not from the very Digital World itself..."

Beliamon nodded sadly and continued her explanation.

"Ayzahn Ra, the surrounding area, and this temple, The Temple of Earth, if you're wondering, that's why its so like a cave, it was built onto one; are all that's not been absorbed in this area. Now what's left is like an island in a sea of nothingness." Belimaon said quietly, higginh her knees to herself.

"Then...how did you get here?" Kouji asked.

"I used a teleportation spell. I could've flown, but the flight is quite tiring and many weaker digimon coudn't make it." Beliamon elaborated.

Another small silence.

"You said Temple of Earth..." Kouji muttered, a spark of an idea forming in his mind.

Beliamon smiled and nodded.

"Yes...surrounding Ayzahn Ra there were once nine other temples, dedicated to the elemenst of the Ten Legendary Warriors. Ayzahn Ra was a village of mage digimon dedicated to these elements in both Magic and Physical Combat...but all the other temples and digimon were destroyed when their data was absrorbed." Beliamon said, a sad smile on her lips.

Kouji gazed at the strange digimon that had captured him. It was clear that she carried a great sorrow in her heart and a great burden in her soul, but he could also sense she was not telling him something. He almost felt sorry for her, but he was still light years from trusting her, or even liking her, but she had some of his respect...some, not all. After all, she HAD kidnapped him.

"I'm done." Kouji said simply and pushed the tray away.

Beliamon glanced at the tray, then him, and scowled. HE hadn't eaten very much, though he had taken a large chunk out of the sundae. It appeared that Kouji had a sweet tooth.

Beliamon stored that fact in her mind for future use and got up to return the tray to the kitchen, guessing that this was as much Kouji would eat...for now at least.

"Well, I'll return this to the kitchen. If I were you, I'd get some sleep. Its gotten quite late since you woke up earlier this afternoon." She commented as she entered the passageway.

Despite, being under Belimon's speel earlier, Kouji did feel a bit sleepy and curled up into his bed; it was actually quitr comfy.

Right before he feel asleep, he heard Beliamon's giggles echoing through the passageways of the Temple of Earth...

The next morning...

You have the following choices:
