Sophie smiled at the man holding the door. "Thanks.I just got transfered here from the main branch, and I wanted to get an idea of the lay out before everyone arrives. Which division are you with?"
The man smiled back and replied "All of them." Then he held out his hand for Sophie to shake. "I'm Adam Scott, I own the firm."
Sophie could feel her cheeks go red. That was one of the problems of being of a peaches and cream complexion. "I'm so sorry sir,I didn't recognise you." She blurted,turning to press to control pad for the 5th floor.
Adam laughed, it was a rich sound, full bodied like Sophie's favorite red wine, but even a bottle of it couldn't make her feel warm all the way to her toes.
"I'm not an ogre. I'm just a 36 year old who's been fortunate enough to build a good buisness.It doesn't matter if you didn't recognise me,so long as you don't forget me."
Forget him!Fat chance!Sophie had always had a weakness for older guys and 11 years was deffinatly older. To top it off he didn't look that much older than her. His hair was thick and dark with no signs of thinning or greying. His smile was ohhhh so nice and his eyes...His eyes were the sort that could make you weak at the knees. Deep and dark but sparkling. In just the few minutes they had been in the lift together, Sophie had seen them go from Midnight, to Colbalt to almost grey. Wow.
Her thoughts were starting to go in the wrong direction when the bell rang and the doors slid open at Sophie's floor. She smiled at Adam and left. As she heard the doors close behind her she heaved a sigh of relief. "Don't get involved at work Soph. It's a bad idea. Especially with the boss." She muttered to herself as she headed down the corridor to her department.
