"Hey!" a voice called out. Derek didn't pay it much attention, considering there were beginning to be students all over the place in the cafeteria. He just stayed off to the side to make sure that he wouldn't get stepped on. "Hey, come here!" the voice said again. Now Derek was getting confused. That voice sounded like it was being directed at him. But he couldn't tell from where or who it was coming from. Shaking his head to snap himself out of it, Derek looked around just to make sure he wasn't losing it. When he looked to his left, there was a girl looking at him with a smile. "Hi!" she exclaimed, waving. Derek smiled and waved back. "Come here! You're that little helper, right? You seem really nice!" Derek shrugged then headed over to the girl. She seemed really nice, at least that was the impression she gave the guy. He got up to below her seat and the elementary student picked Derek up. While in her hand, the girl started to talk to Derek. "My name's Alexia, you're Mr. Bates! I like you. You're so short and cute, you're like a living dolly," the girl said. Derek shrunk. "Whoa! What happened, you got smaller!"
"Well, this is embarrassing," Derek whispered. He hadn't shrunk too much, but it was obviously still noticeable. He wasn't planning on letting the girl know what she had done, hoping to avoid getting any smaller. "Yeah, I did. Anyways, you said your name was Alexia?" Derek spoke to the girl. Looking back at her, the little Asian with black hair and glasses. It was quite apparent she was interested in him. "Yes, I'm Alexia. It's so nice to meet you! So, do you help us every day? I'd like to see you every day," the Asian excitedly said. Derek laughed. "No, I don't help one place every day. I move around a lot, like I help a different grade each day. At least that's what I've done so far, I'm not sure if I will ever work in one place for good," he explained. The girl pouted. "Aww, I would really like to have you in my classroom. It would be so much fun to play with you." Derek shook his head. "Listen, I'm not here to play, I'm here to help you! So make sure you don't get ahead of yourself, okay?" Alexia huffed. "Man, okay. But since I have you here right now, let's play!" Derek tried to stop the girl, but it was too late. Alexia immediately started treating him like a toy and was rushing him all over the lunch table. The students sitting around Alexia thought that she was playing with her doll, and not Derek, so they didn't give her too much attention. "Alexia, stop!" Derek cried. He was about ready to vomit as the little girl continued to wave him around. Alexia made noises and giggled as she moved Derek around. Eventually, she did calm down and pinned Derek to the table with her hand. He would have rather been free, but as long as he wasn't flying about, Derek was content.
"No more flying for me," Derek chuckled. Alexia's eyes brightened. "Flying? Yes! That would be so cool!" Suddenly, she gripped onto Derek again and lifted him up. "No, Alexia, no!" he called. But Alexia wasn't listening. She was about to do something she would come to regret. The Asian girl swung her arm and launched Derek into the air. The now smaller guy screamed and flew away. Alexia lost track of him immediately and started whining, hoping to find him again. Unfortunately, Derek was on track for a less than ideal landing.
Where was it Derek was going to land?
