James read the page with suggestions for new mothers, most of the advice was obvious and he had already tried them. The one that he hadn’t tried, didn’t seem like a good fit as he wasn’t a breastfeeding mother. He read and reread the entry. It mentioned the calming impact of skin to skin contact, how suckling was a comforting activity for babies, and how the entry said nothing about making sure the baby was getting more milk. In fact, the document even suggested that the calming impact of suckling was so effective even your husband could take it on for the mother. Though it seemed this might have been offered in jest. Working up his conviction to stop the fussing, James decided it couldn’t hurt to give it a shot, so he pulled his shirt up over his head and held Make up to his chest. Right away Mark was instinctively moving his head and mouth trying to find that nipple to suckle. Seeing this action and the speed with which Mark had engaged in the rooting around, James decided to go ahead and move Mark in position to be able to latch on to his nipple. Sure enough, Mark latched on and began suckling at James’s chest. Mark seemed to be greatly calmed by the interaction so for the next ten minutes James let Mark suckle. Eventually his nipple began to feel raw so James separated Mark from his chest and then within seconds Mark continued crying. James couldn’t take any further crying so he moved Mark to his other nipple and let Mark resume his suckling.
Another 10 minutes elapsed and mercifully Mark fell asleep. James again put Mark down for bed and then fell promptly to sleep himself. 6 hours later James heard Mark cooing and woke to tend to Mark. James followed his routine to feed Mark, burp him and change him. James put Mark into his second outfit and proceeded to sit and play with him for a bit. A few minutes later a knock came from James’s door. James moved swiftly to the door ready to lay into Nicole.
