The first game to be held was a sparring tournament. Two mecha girls would fight each other until either one pins their opponent or if one causes 20% damage to their opponent. Whoever achieves either of these conditions will be the winner.
The first pair to fight were Botorah and Li Min.
"Do I really need a pilot for this fight?" Botorah complained.
"A human pilot will boost your fighting capability by 15%. Which you'll need against Li Min," an engineer said.
"I'd like a second opinion on those numbers," Botorah said sarcastically.
"A pilot will also make sure you don't break any of the rules, like exceeding the damage limit or flying."
Botorah rolled all six of her eyes. If they were going to take away her biggest advantages, what was the point of making her participate? she thought.
The pilot was set into the seat located in Botorah's midsection. It took him half an hour to suit up and get synced with the controls. Once he was done, Botorah was directed out into the field, where Li Min was entering from the opposite side.
They each walked until they were right in front of each other, where had the rules relayed to them again, before finally beginning their fight at the ring of the bell.
The fight starts off with a fury of blows from the Chinese mecha girl. Botorah uses her arms and wings for defense, but still takes several punches to each of her faces. Botorah tried tried retaliating with her claws and tails, but Li Min proved too fast to land any good hits. Even resorting to her lightning breath only resulted in getting Li Min to back off.
"Okay, pilot," Botorah said not remembering his name, "you adding that 15% yet?" she snarked.
Actually, the pilot had one idea. Once Li Min came in to attack again, with a push of the controls, Botorah felt her entire body suddenly charge forward. Li Min was caught off guard by the attack, and the two mecha girls' bodies clashed together. Botorah being the large of the two, she knocked her opponent on her back and fell on top of her. The clumsy attack also resulted in Botorah's middle face locking lips with the stunned Chinese mecha girl.
"What the fuck are you making me do!" Botorah said with her left head. "Get me off of her!" she yelled as she found she was being kept in place.
Her intercom buzzed in. "Hey, keep that position!" the engineers on the line said. "Whatever you're doing, it's keeping Li Min from moving." Botorah could see why. Her opponent was just as embarrassed and flustered as her. "We can win from pinning if you keep her with this!"
With that command, Botorah was forced to remain in the uncomfortable position until the 10 second timer was called. Once that was done, the two mechas stood back up. Botorah's many emotions were expressed with her left head yelling at her pilot and engineers, her right head apologizing to Li Min, and her center head still in a state of shock from the embarrassing affair. Li Min in comparison was much more stoic, her eyes still wide but the rest of her body maintaining a neutral tone as she silently left the field back to her hanger. Botorah was walked back to her hanger as well, with her many feelings being forced to be bottled up by her human controllers.
The rest of the sparing tournament went on without a hitch. Not all of the mechas participated, including Mothbot, so it went by relatively quickly. It ended in a match with Botzilla and Botorah, allowing Kaijuin to let them have a staged fight with Botzilla coming triumphantly on top and being declared the winner. Over all, a good opening for Kaijuin's expo. The rest of the day would have other planned events and the guests would enjoy the other available activities once they were done.
The next day's main even would be...
